Giving back to the community through Reward Gateway | Edenred’s Ideal Day

uploaded on 27 June 2024

We recently took part on what might be one of our favourite days of the year – Ideal Day! Ideal Day is the chance for the team at Reward Gateway | Edenred to volunteer at a cause of their choice, giving back to the community and spending some time with people outside of their team.

This year saw a range of different volunteering activities taking place:

  • Supporting our charity partners The Felix Project with their Green Scheme by picking up surplus food from suppliers and delivering it to charities.
  • Helping out with painting and decorating at Richard House Children’s Hospice.
  • Assisting City Harvest collect and sort food at Spitalfields Marketing so it can be delivered to those in need.
  • Litter picking in and around Spitalfields City Farm.
  • Joining Refuge International UK to hand out food packages to people experiencing homelessness.
  • Litter picking at the beautiful Talacre Beach in North Wales.
  • Carrying out maintenance in Chester’s canal area by painting fences, trimming hedges and picking up litter.

It was great to see so many people from our organisation giving their time and effort to help these worthwhile causes. While our organisation makes monetary donations to many charities, it’s important to actually provide hands-on help where possible as well, so we can see exactly what our donations are going towards.

Many of the activities took place outside, so the recent heatwave certainly helped volunteers arrive in an even better mood!

Here are some pictures taken of the day.
