News in brief
Accor Services signs up with Action for Children
As part of our 20th anniversary celebrations of childcare vouchers in UK workplaces, Accor Services is pleased to announce a 12 month partnership with Action for Children, the charity that supports and speaks out for the most vulnerable children and young people in the UK.
“Over the course of the next year we will work with Action for Children to fundraise, raise awareness of their cause and support their efforts by encouraging employees to devote their time, experience and energy to helping wherever possible,” explains Andy Philpott, marketing director at Accor Services.
Mothercare & ELC become latest Advantages partner
Mothercare and Early Learning Centre have become the latest high street stores to offer discounts to employees using Accor Services’ electronic childcare vouchers. Available from next week through their online childcare voucher account, employees can get a 6% discount on shopping vouchers purchased for these stores.
“Employers want to offer their people a childcare voucher scheme that adds real value so we’re really pleased to offer employees who use our childcare vouchers the opportunity to save money at Mothercare and Early Learning Centre,” says Fay Bliss, marketing services manager at Accor Services.
Accor Services congratulates winning clients
Congratulations to the Accor Services clients whose expertise and achievements were recognised as having the most effective benefits strategy for working parents and carers at this year’s Employee Benefits Awards.
The category winners, Centrica, won with Work:wise, a scheme to offer staff, irrespective of grade or statutory requirements, greater control over their work–life balance, while using office space more efficiently. This wasn’t just about a service that supported parents - it was about a new way of working that didn’t make parents and carers feel different; it allows employees to meet work and life commitments that suit their circumstances.
Runners up in this category, the UK Border Agency (Home Office), recognise that continuity is crucial for the organisation and developed a system where employees can work on one case from start to finish. The organisation uses a range of flexible working practices, along with childcare vouchers and a holiday play scheme, to engage working parents and support the 47% of employees who already work flexibly.
