Accor Services celebrates top employers for working families
The announcement of the Working Families’ list of Top Employers – those organisations that achieve success by creating flexible and engaging workplaces for parents and carers – is applauded by Accor Services.
“The UK has some of Europe’s most parent-friendly initiatives that enable working parents to enjoy a positive work life balance and feel truly engaged with their employer, their peers and their work. A significant number of family friendly employers are already winning the battle to engage, attract and retain working parents and Accor Services offers our congratulations to the organisations who have been ranked as ‘top employers’ by Working Families,” says Patrick Langlois, managing director of Accor Services.
Engaging Working Parents – a white paper just launched by Accor Services – reviews what the best employers are doing to support working parents and looks forward to the future to consider how organisations can continue to support and engage them in the future.
Re-engage with working parents in National Childcare Week 6-12th June
Since they were first introduced to UK workplaces 20 years ago, childcare vouchers have become one of the most widely-accepted, practical and cost-effective solutions for employers to support working parents.
Yet, even though a childcare voucher scheme may be in place, it’s important to use any opportunity to re-engage with working parents and remind them about the support and solutions you as an employer offer to working parents.
Childcare Week, running from 6 to 12 June 2009, is one such opportunity you can take to drive employees’ awareness of an uptake of family-friendly initiatives. But Mother's Day and Father's Day also provide regular opportunities to tell your working parents what you’re doing for them.
“Any organisation who wants to do more than just the minimum ‘tick box’ exercise, that want their initiatives to be a success, that are conscientious, that want to be an employer of choice, to increase awareness and take up, and engage working parents, should latch on to the re-engagement opportunities and leverage them to communicate with working parents,” says Fay Bliss at Accor Services.
